To increase health care access would require Covered California to administer financial assistance to help low- and middle-income Californians access affordable health care coverage in the exchange. This bill requires Covered California to implement maximum premium contribution limits (8% or less of an individual’s annual household income) and reduce co-payments and deductibles for individuals with incomes between 200 percent and 400 percent FPL ($24,280 – $48,560 in annual household income for one person).
